Samsung's One UI 7.0 update is introducing significant changes, including the removal of the Samsung DeX app for Windows. While the full details of the update remain scarce, leaks have revealed some key modifications.
Key Changes:
DeX App Removal: The app, which allowed users to mirror their phone's screen on a Windows PC and transfer files, will no longer be supported in One UI 7. Instead, Samsung is encouraging users to switch to the Link to Windows feature, which offers similar functionality and is optimized by Microsoft for both Samsung and other Android devices.
Standalone DeX Unaffected: The DeX feature on Samsung devices, which provides a desktop-like interface and supports input devices like keyboards and mice, remains unchanged.
Other Software Cuts: One UI 7.0 also removes support for Edge Panel downloads from the Galaxy Store, indicating Samsung’s focus on simplifying its offerings by eliminating underused features.
